Configuring the minimum password length settings is important only if another method of ensuring compliance with university password standards is not in place. The Information Resources Use and Security Policy requires passwords be a minimum of 8 characters in length. It is strongly recommended that passwords be at least 14 characters in length (which is also the recommendation of CIS). Longer passwords (e.g., more than 20 characters) offer much more protection (entropy) in the event a password hash is obtained and an attacker is attempting to crack it.

If you are writing a long document like a master/PhD thesis, an article, or a review, you are better of with LaTeX. If you have never used it before, you will have to invest some time before you can get cracking on the actual task. But with Word the you will probably need a similar amount of time at the end to get the formatting right, move figures, and iron out layout glitches. So, LaTeX on big documents will be slower at the start and faster at the end, probably overtaking Word during the last rounds since the automatic figure positioning routines, automated numbering, indexing, TOC generation will save you plenty of work. Here, it's advisable to use a template and adapt it.

i have ubuntu in my thinpad.. but i want to remove ubuntu and install windows 7. it does not have dvd drive. i first formatted my usb drive. then pasted windows 7 prof. in it. restart the comp. and kept pressing f2. but did not show the booting message. the above method also did not work. is there any other options??
@ VarazirYes, there is an easier way to have Windows 7 and Windows 8 installation media on the same USB. Please go through the following post:intowindows.com/how-to-install-windows-7-and-windows-88-1-from-same-usb/
i used this guide and successfully installed windows, but now i would like to use my usb normally again. when i insert it into the pc i can see the usb in computer, but it is shown as hidden and in diskpart it shows that it is 0B. how can i have access to my usb again?
hi thanks for the guid.. but how to copy windows 7 file from my hard disk to the USB DRIVE instead of using a CD DISK.. i have already coppied a cd disk and saved it into my hard disk.. please give me a reply..
Titan Uranus, you are special, this guide shows you how to make a bootable USB copy of windows, so in the first place you would need to have the Windows files in order to create the bootable USB. Whether you have the original on CD or have downloaded a copy from the web, without the original files you would not be able to do this. So the moral to the story is, put your brain in gear before you type anything in future because you are only making yourself sound a little dim.
hey there, looks like an awsome guide, but it is possible to do it without the CD? i bought 32 bit windows 7 ultra, but now i wanna upgrade to 64 bit and i dont have the money to buy it. so i downloaded windows 7 ultimate 64 bit from piratebay, can i just copy the files to the usb or how to do?
I tried to use 64bit windows bootcode from my 32bit windows, but got an error. But i fixed it easily. I simply used 32bit windows to create bootcode and then copied 64bit windows contents on my flashdrive.
Works perfect. I created many bootable USB using this method, however one thing I noticed that the format from CMD takes a lot of time to complete. Now I do all the steps except format it with windows.
I did had the same issue. The solution that worked for me? I forgot to right click the Command prompt icon from windows and select run as Administrator. Issues the same command and it worked fine after that.
i have done till assign and exit command on cmd..after that i dont have CD to install windows 7..I have the copy windows 7 CD in my D drive. So how can i install from there?inspite of writing D: CD BOOT wat else i have to write?i want to boot my computer through the copy of Windows 7 CD..whether i have to put that copy in pen drive or what? Please reply soon..

@GabyIt looks like you are trying to install Windows 7 on USB. This guide is to help you install Windows 7 on a hard drive from USB instead of DVD. If you want to install Windows 7 on USB, check out this guide : intowindows.com/how-to-install-windows-7-to-usb-external-hard-drive-must-read/
Dear Admin, thanks very much for your answer. Yes, I understand now.I have a question, though. In step 6, I am in diskpart, and when I type[DVD Unit]: CD BOOTit only lists all possible diskpart commands. I have mounted the Win7 Iso with UltraIso, and checked the drive letter, but diskpart does not change its prompt to c:\windows\system 32 like in the image you show. Can you advise? Thanks
hey i got all the steps completed to format my usb until step 5. but im using a netbook with no optical drive. i have the windows 7 files on my computer via torrent. Is there any other steps in order for my usb to be able to boot windows 7. or is it still going to be able with just the steps ive taken (steps 1-4). thanks
format a 4GB USB to NTFS file system and then copy the contents of windows 7 installation disk to pendrive.Restart your computer and press F12 for boot menu.last select your USB drive in the list and press enter.Windows 7 installation begins.
your drive is now ready to use, simply copy the contents of your instalation media, or extract an iso file to the usb drive itself. * make sure on the target pc you have USB drive as 1st boot device and this will work for any windows install.
Where would you like to add pictures? If you meant on the bootable USB drive, yes, you can create a new folder and then place the pictures in that folder. But if you are looking to add new wallpapers and themes to the Windows setup, you should check out our intowindows.com/how-to-include-new-gadgets-themes-wallpapers-and-screensavers-in-windows-7-setup-iso-file/ guide.
